Russia’s role in Baltic Sea region to dominate Baltic Business Forum.

This year the forum’s theme is Europe: North, East - Business without Borders. The forum will be unveiled by former Polish President Aleksander Kwasniewski, who will kick off a discussion focusing on barriers to stronger economic cooperation between Europe’s north and east. Representatives of economic ministries from countries of the Baltic Sea region will continue the discussion.

Dutch Foreign Ministry to summon RF Amb over attack on Embassy staff member in Moscow--media.

According to the Dutch Foreign Ministry, two unidentified men had beaten the diplomat in his flat which they penetrated on the night from Tuesday to Wednesday. Bodily injuries are reported to have been slight and the Embassy staff member is feeling normally now.

Belgium invites Putin to pay official visit to Brussels within the framework of Russia-EU summit.

“We invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to pay an official visit to Brussels in the context of the upcoming summit Russia-EU due in January 2014,” Reynders said.

Lithuania hands out summit invitations to Eastern Partnership countries.

The invitations to Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine were signed by Lithuanian President Dalja Grybauskaite, European Council President Herman Van Rompuy and European Commission Chairman Jose Manuel Barroso.

First Baltic Channels (PBK) suspends Russian- language broadcasts in Lithuania.

The Lithuanian Radio and Television Commission under the Lithuanian parliament, that supervises the activity of radio and TV broadcasters, last week decided to ban PBK programs produced in countries which are not EU members.
